
In 1994 the Association established the first annual El Paso Artists’ Hall of Fame and inducted two well-known El Paso artists, Bill Kolliker and Urbici Soler. Subsequent banquets and inductions honor outstanding artist for their accomplishments and contributions to the visual arts scene in the El Paso region. Artwork from honorees resides in the museum collection.

The Association annually sponsors Kermezaar, the largest arts and crafts show in the El Paso Southwest. Artists from across the nation present their outstanding talents in close to 100 booths. This outstanding event supports the projects and goals of the International Association for the Visual Arts.

The International Museum of Art annually sponsors the Sun Bowl Art Exhibit, the Southwest’s longest running art exhibit. This juried competitions features top artists from all over the country and is held in conjunction with the El Paso Sun Bowl (typically from November to December - see calendar).

The International Museum of Art, in partnership with the Fine Arts Department of the El Paso Independent School District brings thousands of E.P.I.S.D. students to tour the Museum each year. This program is made possible by the support of our donors.

Christmas at the Museum is designed to spark young people’s interest in the arts and bring young people and their families to the Museum for a day of holiday programming rooted in the arts.
